What May Happen

The City is working on hiring a design engineering consultant that will provide a broad project overview for discussion. There may be questions asked by the Commissioners. A major topic will be whether to dedicate the courts to Pickleball or have mixed use with Tennis.

You can register to speak in favor of dedicated Pickleball Courts at Luther Burbank, and the priority of any amenities. All opinions are welcome. Time is restricted to 3 minutes per speaker. Register by sending an email to Raven.Gillis@mercerisland.gov. If you want to speak on any topic pertaining to Mercer Island Parks and Recreation the process is exactly the same.

The Commission Agenda will be available around February 23rd here. At a future meeting there will be a 30% proposed design. Come back to this page for updated information.

Additional Info

The City has a grant from King County to help fund this project. While limited budget, there may be enough for some features as well as fundraising by Dink On Mercer Island to add amenities such as fencing or lights. This project should be ready to start this fall.
